The bread is wonderful! Go on in just to grab a loaf for home! Parking is easy too. They have front parking and way more in the back. A little gem near the Des Moines Play house.

Among the best breakfast spots in Des Moines. For a long time La Mie was the only popular urban breakfast eatery. La Mie had great coffee and homemade bakery items. Comparable to some of the best breakfast spots in Chicago.

After I had the code here, it set the bar too high, and no other coffee compares now. I love the Carmel macchiato here so much!! We have tried so many of their pastries and sandwiches and they are all soooooo good.

Great salads and sandwiches here. Staff is friendly and helpful. I usually pick up my food to take home. The ambiance is welcoming. I don't get pastries here, I prefer Scenic Route Bakery for those. But, you can not go wrong with their delicious sandwiches and flavorful salads.

That pistachio croissant changed my life. Gorgeous shop, clean, vibrant, amazing. Staff was polite and the atmosphere is cool. 10/10 would recommend. This is a legit hidden gem. Don't sleep on this bakery.

Everything I ate here was amazing. And I tried a lot. The croissants were flaky and buttery. The tarts, well, yum! I won't list everything just come here if you want to get amazing baked goods.

Great variety of breads and pastries. Great options for take and bake such as breakfast pizzas. Ordered an iced caramel latte and the bacon egg and cheese croissant. The croissant was baked, flaky and soft. The order came out quick and tasted delicious. Also tried the fresh squeezed lemonade. Grabbed a loaf of sourdough for lunch and made some delicious grilled cheese sandwiches.

You can grab some quick pastries to go or you can order a full delicious sit down breakfast. We went over Mother's Day weekend, and even through all the chaos, the service was very quick and efficient. This shop is small and has a quaint French bakery ambiance where you can enjoy your food inside or on the small patio out back. Take out or eat in at La Mie, you won't be disappointed!

First time visitor! Went in on a Saturday morning and the place was packed full of people. Immediately got in line and was blown away by how much they have in stock. Great spot to check out in the summer, especially since they also have a patio in the back. They also have parking in the back too if the lot out front is full. I got their French toast, which was absolutely gigantic for the portion size. Same with their croissant sandwiches. Overall I will have to come back to try more stuff.
